OUR APPROACH TO NUTRITION & FITNESS

A “Holistic Approach” –  considers the whole person and how the body and mind interact . Programs, practises and classes are based on the belief\philosophy that everyone has unique nutritional and physical needs.

The result of a holistic approach is to empower clients with the knowledge, understanding and tools they need to fuel, support, and move their bodies, in order to obtain optimal health and sustainable balance in life by including :

  1. Live Food– contains live enzymes (ie. fresh fruit, vegetables and sprouts)

  2. Natural Food– unprocessed, unrefined foods (ie, whole grains, and legumes)

  3. Good Quality Food – grown in soil rich in essential nutrients such as organically grown.

  4. Food Free of pesticides & grown without synthetic fertilizers)

  5. Mindful Movement - moving in full awareness and focus on your body and mind

  6. Intuitive Movement - Moving in a way that feels good to you. Tuning in and listening to exactly what your body and mind are craving

#1. HOLISTIC FITNESS

Holistic fitness includes physical fitness, nutrition, mindset, and mindfulness coaching and takes a behavioural approach.

WHY A HOLISTIC FITNESS APPROACH?

The goal of a holistic fitness approach is to achieve long term sustainable wellness through education, practices and behaviours to achieve overall wellness, that expands various areas, including improving physical fitness, mental and emotional health, and other facets of one’s health.

Over the past  7+ years of fitness training and teaching  Dr. Brigitte Hynes-Taylor, has adapted a  holistic approach to fitness training , which considers-the 5 domains of physical and mental fitness and how they support and compliment each-other towards achieving overall wellness. Functional holistic fitness focused on :

  • Improving posture

  • Improving body mechanics

  • Improving flexibility

  • Core strengthening

  • Strengthening of weak muscles

  • Improving Cardiovascular output

  • Changing body composition (increase muscle, decrease fat)

#2 . HOLISTIC NUTRITION:

Currently conventional medicine tends to separate human health into parts: mental, physical, emotional, social, etc. 'Holistic' simply means that all aspects of an 'individual' person’s well-being are considered. The whole person is the focus, rather than merely a symptoms(s) or disease(s). This approach is based on Socrates premise -  “the part can never be well unless the whole is well”. Socrates

WHY A HOLISTIC NUTRITION APPROACH?

Over the last 18+ years  Dr. Brigitte Hynes-Taylor, a  Registered Holistic Nutritionist & Nutrition Coach. has combined her traditional medical background with holistic practices to educate and support long term sustainable , unrestrictive, individualized, macronutrient fulfilling relationship and understanding of live, wholesome, nutrient dense food, healthy habits, and nutrition knowledge for achievement of personal overall health and nutritional goals .

What is Holistic Nutrition?

Holistic Nutrition is a natural approach to health that uses evidence-based techniques for diet, lifestyle and detoxification. It focuses the client as "a whole" rather than focus on single modalities, symptoms or previous diagnoses, eliminating traditional methodologies of "on size fits all".

What does a Nutrition Assessment entail?

A Extensive Lifestyle Assessment Form is completed which collects and  evaluates one's  health history, emotional state, lifestyle, habits current diet habits, level of stress, hereditary diseases and much more.

A Nutrisystem profile is also completed. One scores 67 symptoms as a 1, 2, or 3.  Using these scores we are able to focus on which of the body systems is unbalanced.

Why choose the Holistic approach to health?

Currently conventional medicine tends to separate human health into parts: mental, physical, emotional, social, etc.

Holistic simply means that all aspects of a person’s well-being are considered. The whole person is the focus, rather than merely a  symptoms() or disease. Our approach is based on Socrates premise -  “the part can never be well unless the whole is well”. Socrates
